Day 1
SAN CRISTÓBAL + 360 TOUR
Day 1 - Airport Transfer to Hostel
HIGHLANDS - LAGUNA DEL JUNCO, GALAPAGUERA, PUERTO CHINO
Departure for SAN CRISTÓBAL ISLAND. Airport-hotel transfer. Accommodation. Lunch.
In the afternoon, we travel by car to LAGUNA DEL JUNCO, the island's freshwater reservoir, located at 700 meters above sea level in an inactive volcanic crater. It is surrounded by lush vegetation. Along the way, we will observe the agricultural and livestock area and the wind turbine. We continue to the GALAPAGUERA located on CERRO COLODADO, where we will observe land tortoises unique to this island. Finally, we travel to PUERTO CHINO, a beautiful beach to enjoy a refreshing swim and where we may occasionally see Blue-footed Boobies and sea lions. Dinner.
Day 2
LOBERÍA
CENTRO DE INTERPRETACIÓN, CERRO TIJERETAS, BAHÍA DARWIN
Desayuno. En la mañana nos dirigimos en carro hacia la LOBERIA ubicada a 3km del Puerto. Una vez en el lugar iniciamos con una corta caminata bordeando la zona costera por un lado y la zona de mangles, muyuyos y cactus por el otro lado, dándonos la oportunidad de disfrutar de un espectacular paisaje. Al final nos encontramos con una pequeña ensenada poblada por una infinidad de lobos marinos de todas las edades; increíblemente y sin ningún riesgo podemos nadar y hacer snorkeling junto a ellos. Finalmente haremos una corta caminata para observación de aves marinas. Almuerzo.
En la tarde visitamos el CENTRO DE INTERPRETACIÓN, tendremos aquí una selecta información sobre la formación geológica, climas, corrientes marinas, primeros visitantes, historia y problemáticas ambientales de las islas. Caminata al CERRO TIJERETAS que tiene una vista espectacular del Puerto. Continuamos hacia BAHÍA DARWIN donde podemos nadar y hacer snorkeling junto a tortugas e inquietos lobos marinos. Cena.
Day 3
360 TOUR
On this excursion, we'll take a complete tour of San Cristóbal Island. During the tour, we'll enjoy incredible beaches, snorkel alongside hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, manta rays, sea turtles, sea lions, and countless fish. We'll also observe birds such as boobies, frigatebirds, and seagulls.
After breakfast, we'll head to the dock to board the boat. Departure is at 7:30 a.m. and return at 4:30 p.m.
The tour includes the following sites:
✓ Kicker Rock (Sleeping Lion) (snorkeling). Here you'll snorkel and observe blacktip reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks, Galapagos sharks, eagle rays, turtles, and a variety of fish. You'll see the magnificent islet rising 500 feet from the ocean, shaped like a giant sleeping lion, hence its name.
✓ Cerro Brujo (panga ride). Where only panga rides (cruising around the rock) will be offered to observe seabirds such as blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, herons, frigatebirds, and shorebirds.
✓ Sardina Bay (beach and snorkeling). It comprises two beaches whose attractions are their small white sand dunes and crystal-clear waters, ideal for snorkeling. There is a large presence of sea turtles, rays, and sea lions.
✓ Pitt Point (fishing only if conditions are favorable). Birdwatching from the boat; this is the only place in the Galapagos Islands where all three species of boobies can be observed. Blue-footed boobies nest inland (rarely on the cliffs), red-footed boobies nest on bushes, and masked boobies nest on the cliffs.
✓ Rosa Blanca Bay (beach, snorkeling). It's a small bay characterized by several small beaches with crystal-clear waters and numerous dunes. We'll complement this with snorkeling. Return to the port.
